Swire Pacific Offshore will deliver the main equipment as a shipping delivery. The first ship is scheduled for delivery during the first half of 2013 and the last vessel during the first half of 2014.

This is the second series of vessels that Swire Pacific Offshore will build using Havyard design TM and these Havyard 844 XL AHTSs are sister ships of the four corresponding ships being constructed at Drydocks World-Singapore. The first vessel of this series will be delivered during the first half of 2012. The contract value of the design package between the parties is confidential but the order is a big and important one for Havyard.

Swire Pacific Offshore is one of the leading operators of offshore vessels in the world. They are based in Singapore and operate much of their fleet in Asia and Australia, but engage in activity in most parts of the world where there is offshore oil exploration. Swire Pacific Offshore has a fleet of 77 offshore vessels today and a further 17 newbuilds being constructed. The majority of this fleet is AHTSs and they are on average less than 9 years old. The shipping company focuses on offering high quality support services for the offshore oil industry through a fleet of modern, environmentally friendly and efficient offshore vessels.

Havyard 844 XL AHTS is developed by Havyard Design & Engineering in close cooperation with Swire Pacific Offshore. Swire Pacific Offshore is a demanding customer that has given valuable feedback and input in the design process. Based on Havyard Design & Engineering`s competence and the ship-owner`s experience in operating advanced offshore vessels, Havyard 844 XL has become a top modern and very efficient AHTS. This is also the first AHTS that has been designed according to the new SPS 2008 notation, something which gives greater flexibility in terms of having extra crew onboard in order to perform special operations. With these contracts there are now 28 AHTSs of a Havyard design TM, either delivered or being constructed. This makes Havyard Design & Engineering one of the absolute largest suppliers of designs of AHTSs since the company was formed in 2005.

- I normally say that without good competitors and demanding customers we have no future. When we won the first order for delivery of four Havyard 844 XL designs to Swire Pacific Offshore, it was a good example of exactly this. We competed with the very best designers in the business and Swire is one of the most demanding customers you could have. The design process has been very challenging and exciting and we have learned a lot from the cooperation with Swire. When they now have chosen to build a further four Havyard 844 XL vessels, it is a huge recognition of the job our team has done together with the ship-owners and also a further proof that the product that we have delivered is top class, says Geir Johan Bakke, CEO of Havyard Group AS.
