MMC First Process has the technology and expertise required to deliver unique total system solutions for the fisheries and aquaculture industries at sea and onshore. The company is currently developing new technology that will be a game changer in handling, processing and refrigeration, and that will be more environmentally friendly, in addition to improving efficiency and the quality of the end product.

 New role
Leif Gjelseth has been in the industry for a long time. Many know him as an entrepreneur and an inventor of smart solutions that have made operations easier for customers in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors. It is therefore very positive for MMC First Process that Leif will continue in the company also after resigning as Executive Vice President. Leif will continue as an adviser on product and business development, and will offer his expertise and experience both within the company and to our customers.

‘It feels strange now that I have chosen to hand over the helm after steering the ship for so many years,’ says Leif Gjelseth, ‘but now I can focus on what I like best, namely solving problems for my customers. I also know that the company will be in good hands now that Petter Leon Fauske, who has built up First Process, is taking over. Petter Leon has been in the industry since the early 1990s, and has both the drive and expertise we need to exploit the exciting possibilities available to MMC First Process in the time ahead. I am looking forward to continuing to work with him and the rest of the capable people at MMC First Process. This company has unique possibilities and will launch new things that will grab the attention of both our customers and competitors,’ Leif concludes with a knowing smile.

 New Executive Vice President
Petter Leon Fauske is humble about taking over from Leif, but he is very excited and ready to further develop the company.

‘I have known Leif since we worked in the same company in the early 2000s. He was a big part of the reason why we wanted First Process and MMC to merge. Leif has incredible expertise, especially as regards knowledge about the market, customer relations and product development, so it is very positive that Leif will be staying on as senior adviser. Now that I’ve gotten to know the rest of the organisation and its expertise and technology, I know that the decision to merge was the right one. I see a great potential to take the company forward with all our competent people,’ Petter Leon concludes.

Petter Leon Fauske has a degree in mechanical engineering from Aalesund University College and recently completed further education in marketing at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). He started his career in Odim Skodje in 1992, where he held various positions before ending up as project manager. He then worked as project manager in Optimar until founding the company First Process in 2003. There, he made the exciting journey of building a company based on a unique business model, while also setting up subsidiaries in Japan, Chile and Peru.
