took both my Bachelor’s degree in Export Marketing and my Master’s Degree in International Business and Marketing at Aalesund University College. Moving back home was never obvious to me, until I got to know Havyard. Becoming a part of Havyard has been a valuable experience for me, as I have been challenged in so many ways. I have learned a lot about myself and an industry characterised by intense competition. Not least, my position as an Executive Trainee has given me a wonderful chance to see the business as a whole, and how several departments and disciplines are linked together throughout the processes.
I have a master degree i law from the University of Oslo. As I see it, the intention of a trainee position is to be able to take part in all of the segments within the group; from procurement to sales, to human resources, finance and projects, and I have done all of this. I feel I have been given the chance to contribute based on my background and education. This kind of program gives the best and complete overview of the group and how people work in the various sections. I feel that this has been an important and useful way of learning which has given me the understanding of the structure and the overall lines of how a shipbuilding technology group works.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Export Marketing from Aalesund University College. During the last semester of my studies I had a 20% position as Executive Trainee in Havyard, which gave me the possibility to learn about business in real life as well as theory. This was quite educational and it gave me an advantage during my studies. After my studies I started working full time in Havyard as trainee. I have learned a lot about the industry and business and got a foundation to start building a career.

I recently returned to my home town of Fosnavåg after having spent several years as a student at Vestfold University College. My previous work experience from ships within the fishing and offshore industry met the requirements to enroll in a 1 year preliminary course for maritime and engineering students, and from there I moved on to graduate with a bachelor degree in Nautical Science. I am currently studying for a Msc. in Maritime Management, and will be completing my master thesis while working at Havyard as an Executive Trainee.
